We Can't Do This Alone!

We are committed to redefining safety by transforming harm and deepening Detroiters' interconnectedness. Detroit Safety Team's practice is dedicated in developing a shift in ownership over our safety and the safety of our community. 

 

Every day, our team is reimagining sustainable conflict-resolution alternatives to the punitive system by training Detroiters across the city in de-escalation tactics, holding necessary accountability processes between peers and organizations that have been directly impacted by harm/conflict, and structuring a people-centered framework for a more equitable Detroit.  We are here to build out a restorative justice model that is for us and informed by us...and we can't do it alone!
